TEASLE AND TRAUTMAN OFF TO THE MINE |

North Vancouver, B.C. Take the Capilano Rd. north of Hwy 1 and follow it up until you come to the Cleveland Dam (lots of signs, you can’t miss it). Park for free and once you get to the dam look to Capilano Lake on your right. This was the location for the helicopter transporting Teasle & Trautman to the mine. Now continue across the dam and follow the road up to the left and around the bend. As soon as you come around the bend take the trail to the left, walk about 50 feet down the path. The scene was filmed to your right against the hill. Even though this area is highly travelled by locals, hikers and tourists there have been bears reported in the area. Park Rangers will post plenty of signs advising you. |

THE MINE |

Capilano River/North Vancouver, B.C. North from Hwy 1 on Capilano road, drive past the Capilano Suspension bridge and you’ll come to the Salmon Hatchery on your left ( Lots of signs so don’t worry). Park for free and walk 50 feet west to the River and you’re literally right there. ***see the map at the bottom of the page*** |

History — I found the mine location thanks to Steven Johnston, who was a security guard during the filming of this scene. Due to this being filmed on GVRD land it was put back to the original condition it was found in immediately after the shoot. There is no longer any trace of the actual mine. |

Golden Ears Park/Maple Ridge, B.C. From Dewdney Trunk Rd. turn north on 232nd St., turn right on Fern Cresent, which will turn into Golden Ears Parkway and continue on this road for quite a few miles. Pass the Alouette campground and within minutes the pavement turns into gravel. Continue on this gravel road for another 5 minutes and you will come to the bridge. Cross the bridge and on your left is the field that was once the base camp. It has grown over quite a bit but the area is still very recognizable.

How do I get there? |

|
Burnaby, B.C.—The interior shots of the mine where filmed in an abandoned Steel Manufacturer building that was formally used to house BC Hydro (now Coast Mountain Bus Co.) buses during the late 70’s. In 1987 the site officially became home to Bridges Studio’s on the corner of Lougheed Hwy and Boundary. |
