Considered by many to be the birthplace of John Rambo and with a population of over 6500 residents, Hope is situated 150km or 93 miles east of Vancouver. Upon arriving in town you will immediately start to recognize the various locations you’ve seen in the movie. The first thing I recommend you do is go to the Visitors Center on 919 Water street. The staff are second to none when it comes to friendly, outgoing service and will give you all the information you need to start off your First Blood tour. I highly recommend spending at least a couple of days there to not only see the movie locations, but take in the wonderful sights Hope has to offer. Brian McKinney, who runs the Hell’s Gate Airtram in the spectacular Fraser Canyon north of Hope, was not only present during the filming of First Blood but met Sylvester Stallone on numerous occasions. The Hell’s Gate Airtram is worth the trip alone and be sure to stop in to see Brian for any First Blood movie questions you might have. |
